Add Me Veg - Active Community! [29 Jan 2010|01:55pm]

Add Me Veg - an 'Add Me' community aimed at vegetarian and vegan friends on livejournal!

I love my omnivore friends, but sometimes its nice to have a few fellow veg*ns on one's friends' list, swap recipes, discuss dinner ideas, and share ideals about animal welfare and animal protection
Not to mention, not have to explain yourself about your dietary choices (unless you wish to).

Promises to be a drama free, non-snarky, fun space!

Looking forward to seeing you over there!!

Sam Ronson, Please Level the Field Between LGBT Rights and Animal Rights! [13 Nov 2008|10:25am]
[ mood | disappointed ]

Did you hear about what Samantha Ronson said about the passage of Prop 8 and the passage of Prop 2?

"I guess people care more about farm animals than they do their fellow man, that's really sad to me," Ronson wrote on her MySpace blog. "Yes, I am glad that the chickens will have more room and better conditions as they wait to die, but I just think it's frightening that people show more compassion for tomorrow's dinner than for the chef."

I think Ronson needs to level the field between LGBT rights and animal rights!
We need to stop thinking of non-human animals as objects!

Ellen gets Iggy With it [20 Oct 2007|10:22am]
October 19, 2007
Rescue Ruckus Shouldn’t Scare Away Adopters
Sometimes, you can become too fixated on adhering to the rules and throw common sense out the window. That's what happened in the case of a little black Brussels Griffon terrier mix named Iggy and a dispute over the dog between the television host and comedienne Ellen DeGeneres and a Pasadena, California-based private pet rescue, Mutts & Moms.

Apparently Ellen adopted Iggy in September and, for a few different reasons, later gave the dog to her hairdresser, whose two daughters became enamored with Iggy. When the rescue group learned of Iggy’s transfer they took him from his new home, citing a violation of the adoption contract.

They may have been right on the letter of the law, but not in the spirit of the mission of Mutts & Moms.

Ellen broadcast this turn of events on her television show Tuesday, begging that Iggy be reunited with the hairdresser’s family. Ellen pleaded with the rescue to allow Iggy to stay with the new family, since a strong bond had already been formed and because they were capable of providing a great home.

Ellen acknowledged she shouldn't have given Iggy away, but it’s clear she had genuine concerns about providing the pooch with a good home. Ellen has a long and consistent record of being on the side of animals, and that counts for a lot in a case like this. She has the interests of Iggy at heart.

Mutts & Moms was too rigid, even though I am sure they are very fine and dedicated people. They were a slave to form and forgot the real-world circumstances. They lost their chance to have Ellen serve as an advocate for them and for animal adoption, instead turning a potentially positive event into a distressing experience for all involved, including Iggy.

The episode won't help the reputation of animal rescue organizations. And that is a shame. One adoption mishandled should not define their work. Rescues serve an invaluable role for animals, and the vast majority of people who run them and work for them are remarkably selfless people—investing their own time, energy and resources to place unwanted animals who might otherwise be euthanized.

If rescues and shelters want to set high standards for adopters, they should be free to do so. Adoption policies exist and are enforced to protect the adopted animal, who is hopefully being placed into a home for life that is free from harm. But adoption counselors should—and usually do—give the benefit of the doubt to their adopters, and try to work things out in the best interest of the animal. And most do this because it is in their interest, too.

Every day, shelters and rescues are working to hone their adoption processes that safeguard the animals entrusted to their care. I hope would-be pet owners won’t shy away from adopting a homeless animal—there are still so many in need.

Asian dish [07 Aug 2006|12:23pm]

Turn out that I didn't make anything for picnic, we when to a restaurant nearby for lunch. Ever since I converted to vegetarian, not more than ten restaurants which are 'friendly' to me in this town I live in, so you can imagine how boring it is eating out. Anyhow, a new different restaurant really mean heaven to us, thou these food are not so healthy if compare to home cooking.

cum on [13 Jul 2006|07:00pm]

[ mood | where is baby cum from? ]

This is a silly question but I really want to know. Is it cum of a vegetarian is different? As in color, smell and thickness.

I have a friend who has been vegetarian for a very long time, and he seldom jerk off. One day I got the opportunity to ‘study’ his cum, it's mixed of light-yellowish and white ooze, the light-yellowish 'gel' is a bit transparent too; and it’s odorless, it even tasteless and not gluey at all.

When I asked another vegetarian friend of mine, he’s sexually active and is vegetarian at a certain level. He said his cum is purely white in color and odorless, he told me that his boyfriend said that his cum taste a bit sweet too. He also told me that even if after few days without oozing it out, his cum will not be yellowish at all.

Will it be different for a vegetarian? Transparent cum?

another new member [11 Jul 2006|02:54pm]

Seems like it's a must for new members to introduce themselves. :)

I'm Chan, Malaysian, Chinese, male. I like Indian and Oriental food, but converted to yogist-vegetarian lately. Most of the time I prefer to cook my own food, because it's hard to explain my diet to hawker/cook out there, even vegetarian restaurant/hawker aren't familiar with ingredients of their soy/vege meats some times. :p
